Tracy has managed hundreds of consulting assignments in her more than 20 years in the industry, including numerous large, multi-disciplinary projects. Before coming to Banister Research, Tracy’s work experience included tenures at other recognized research firms and at the University of Alberta. Tracy specializes in the area of data collection logistics, quality control and survey management, having conducted numerous studies for a variety of clients. Since joining the Firm in 2004, Tracy has been a Senior Consultant on the majority of Banister Research projects; she has the required skills and experience to effectively control the consumption of project resources (human and financial) and ensure that the integrity of the schedule for this project is maintained.
Tracy has completed both Masters-level statistics courses and the Summer Institute on Quantitative Analysis of Social Data Program at the University of Alberta. She has also completed advanced SPSS training and advanced Statistics Canada workshops for sample selection, questionnaire design and data processing and analysis. Tracy has obtained her Credentialed Evaluator designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES), and served as President of the CES Alberta/NWT Chapter from 2013 to 2015.
Joining Banister Research in 2005, Emily specializes in all aspects of data management, including programming, sample selection, and the collection and analysis of data. As a Senior Associate with the Firm, Emily handles the data management and statistical analysis for the majority of Banister Research’s assignments. She is proficient with SPSS and MS Excel statistical software, Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) software, and Linux and Windows Operating Systems. Emily is also experienced with qualitative data analysis, and is responsible for supervising Banister’s team of coding staff.
In 2005, Emily graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan. Since then she has worked in various capacities with Banister Research, including work as a Call Centre Supervisor and the Call Centre Manager. Emily has managed and analyzed hundreds of data sets for Banister Research, and has worked on projects with sample sizes exceeding 20,000 respondents. Having worked in various capacities with the Firm, Emily is familiar with all aspects of data collection and analysis logistics; she ensures that each of Banister’s projects are planned in a way which most effectively and efficiently accomplishes the client’s goals.
Jessica Tomory joined Yardstick in 2019 and specializes in all aspects of research design. With a Master’s degree in Applied Social Psychology from Claremont Graduate University, she is an expert in leadership evaluation, research design, and survey methodology. Her graduate research on leadership has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences all over the world. Before joining the Yardstick Research team, Jessica taught at the University of Alberta, NorQuest College, and MacEwan University while working as an independent consultant for local businesses and start-ups around Edmonton.
As a Senior Associate, Jessica leverages her knowledge and experience in applied research, teaching, and leadership consulting to assist with business development, project management, and team development.
Dayna has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (2014) from MacEwan University. During her studies, Dayna excelled in her studies pertaining to qualitative and quantitative social research methods as well as social statistics. Since joining the Firm in September 2014, Dayna has become proficient at the analysis and reporting of data and questionnaire/form design.
A new member of the Yardstick Research team, Stefan graduated from MacEwan University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Communications. Stefan began working with the firm in 2019 to help with composing proposals, writing reports, and to work on panel management
Julian is a new addition to the Banister Research team, having graduated from the University of Alberta in 2015 with a major in Drama and a minor in Creative Writing. Julian joined the firm in 2018 to assist with the writing of reports, creation of presentations and communication.
Melanie has been a hands-on market researcher and has gathered a vast experience in operations since the day she set foot into this industry: coming from the University of Hamburg (Germany) with a Master’s degree in English Literature and Political Science, she worked for seven years at one of the world’s largest international market research companies in both the research departments and the data collection fields. Melanie is a specialist for survey development, data collection and fieldwork supervision with a view for detail and a passion for project management. Prior to joining the Yardstick Research team in 2019, Melanie worked as an outreach coordinator at a non-profit organization as well as a legal assistant at a large Canadian law firm, two positions that broadened her professional horizon.
Chris Stover has managed the Banister Research Call Centre in Edmonton, Alberta since 2008. Chris is highly skilled at managing multiple projects, ensuring that all telephone surveys are completed on time and within budget. Chris’ dedication to the job is evidenced by his outstanding supervisory skills and administration of complex data collection projects, while his interpersonal skills make him well-suited to oversee the recruitment, training, and ongoing management of all call centre staff.
Prior to working at Banister Research, Chris obtained his Bachelor of Arts in History and worked as a call centre supervisor at a direct sales firm.
